The Wyoming Stable Token Commission announced that the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT) will be available on Hedera. Hedera was selected during the Commission’s Q2 review as the only additional blockchain to support FRNT, meeting requirements for speed, reliability, and regulatory alignment.
Created under the Wyoming Stable Token Act of 2023, FRNT is backed by U.S. dollars and short-term Treasuries, with an extra two percent reserve to ensure stability. Proceeds from Treasury interest will go to Wyoming’s School Foundation Program. FRNT has been tested for applications including contractor payments, emergency disbursements, and various public services.
Hedera was chosen for its fast settlement, low fixed fees, and governance model aligned with regulatory needs. With capacity for 10,000 transactions per second and a carbon-negative network, Hedera provides scale and efficiency for public payments. FRNT has already been tested for uses including contractor payments and emergency disbursements.
