Google Cloud has announced the launch of its new Blockchain Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. The service is aimed at simplifying blockchain interactions for developers.

According to the information shared in a press release, the new service offers a scalable, cheaper, and reliable solution for developers to interact with blockchain data.

Google Cloud’s new service offers up to 100 requests per second

Google Cloud is eyeing a wide range of organizations with this new release. These include startups seeking an easy entry point to blockchain and even large enterprises.

The service launches with a free tier that supports up to 100 requests per second. It also enables the development of real-time and>“Google Cloud’s Blockchain RPC offerings deliver fast response times — exactly what you’d expect from them. Coupled with the fact that Google Cloud follows the EIP1474 standards and has the free-tier option, we integrated its service into our system right away and haven’t looked back,” Kyle Quintal, Head of Engineering at 0xArc.

New blockchain RPC is compatible with Ethereum

Initially, the Blockchain RPC service supports Ethereum mainnets and testnets. Google also plans to expand to several additional blockchain networks over the next year.

The service is fully compatible with the Ethereum JSON-RPC standard. This will help developers to integrate it into their applications with minimal code changes.

The Blockchain RPC service is now available in preview globally. Some of the key features of the service include enterprise-grade reliability, cost-effectiveness, compatibility with existing RPC providers, etc.

Google has been evidently trying to bring in developments in the blockchain space lately. The company introduced a feature in 2023 that allowed users to enter their wallet addresses in the search bar, which will then show the wallet balances. Google even introduced updated advertising policies for crypto and related products with specific guidelines.

Google Cloud also brought together a dedicated Digital Assets Team focusing on the blockchain ecosystem. In addition, they unveiled their Blockchain Node Engine, which helps to deploy blockchain applications with ease.
