COZ has unveiled its roadmap for Neon 3, a redesigned version of its desktop and mobile wallet. The update features a suite of new features, including multi-chain support, and a unified software architecture for cross-platform deployment.

Launch features

The initial release of Neon 3 will feature a full redesign of the wallet’s desktop client, with improved interface customization such as account labeling and personalization.

Wallet management has been simplified by allowing users to secure all their accounts with a single master password. This functionality works in tandem with new cross-chain compatibility, making it possible to manage addresses on multiple blockchains using a single interface.

Neon will initially support Neo N3, Neo X, and Ethereum with support for BIP-44 key derivation and imports, alongside other conveniences, such as a MetaMask key exchange tool and automatic account import scanning when using a mnemonic.

COZ has upgraded its WalletConnect 2 interface and extended support to Neo X, making it possible for both Neo N3 and X dApps to onboard Neon wallet users.

Technical roadmap

In Q3 2024, COZ plans to introduce non-fungible item skins for account card customization based on NFI token holdings. The same quarter will see the reintroduction of support for multiple accounts on Ledger hardware wallets, plus a native Flamingo integration for performing token swaps directly from within the wallet.

Q4 2024 will see an in-wallet integration of the Neo Native Bridge, allowing Neon users to easily move assets between N3 and X, alongside support for cross-chain swaps via Flamingo and other supported exchanges. COZ will also deliver an account sync feature, an optional tool for synchronizing wallet, account, and contact data across different Neon products.

The team has highlighted three main priorities for the first half of 2025. In Q1, the focus will be on accounting features, such as an enhanced transaction history export feature. In Q2, COZ will add self-custodial identity management tools and a low-fee fiat ramp to improve onboarding for users’ applications alongside facilities for regulatory compliance.
