The course, known as the BNB Chain Developer Education Program, is free for all and requires no prior developer skills. It aims to equip learners with the skills they need to build the future of Web3.
Binance Academy, the crypto education arm of the world’s largest exchange, announced the new initiative today. It has partnered on the course with BNB Chain, the largest Layer 1 blockchain network by user count according to the data by Dapp Radar.
The course is Binance Academy’s response to a surge in the demand for skilled blockchain developers. According to the Blockchain Council, this demand has skyrocketed in the past year in tandem with mainstream companies’ adoption of blockchain. This has led to an acute shortage of skilled developers as traditional companies snap up the talent.
The new program comprises 20 courses, with each featuring a maximum of six videos. They explore topics such as smart contracts, the BNB Chain, blockchain basics, decentralized finance (DeFi), oracles, decentralized applications (dApps), Web3, tokenization and more.
In addition to the videos, learners can access reading materials, practice projects to test their knowledge, and graded assessments to gauge their comprehension. Users will attain a digital certificate upon completion of the course.
The course was devised by a team composed of BNB Chain community members. In its commentary, the team noted that it aims to promote blockchain adoption by availing knowledge and tools to every interested party to build on the blockchain.
Commenting on the course, Binance co-founder Yi He stated that it’s a timely initiative as blockchain and Web3 have permeated every other industry globally. Despite all the advancements, education remains the central tenet of fostering long-lasting adoption and providing new opportunities for everyone.

The online course is the latest initiative by the BNB Chain community to foster continued growth and adoption.
