Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence arm of Alibaba Group, has joined forces with layer-1 blockchain Avalanche to offer a launchpad called Cloudverse. This platform aims to help businesses design, launch, and maintain their metaverse spaces on Avalanche’s blockchain. The announcement comes ahead of the Avalanche Summit II conference.

MUA DAO, a service layer, will also partner to help integrate and customize metaverses. President of Ava Labs, John Wu, said that Alibaba Cloud’s partners are interested in becoming part of web3. Avalanche will be dedicating resources to make it easy for them to create their own SDKs on top of Avalanche’s.

Quick and easy metaverse launch for enterprises

Avalanche offers customizable subnetworks (subnets) that can be built on top of its blockchain, allowing for adaptable blockchain solutions through Cloudverse. This infrastructure enables businesses without the time or resources to launch metaverse platforms to gain exposure to the space. Emin Gün Sirer, the founder and CEO of Ava Labs, said that the technology had been made “very easy” and all tools are open source.

Builders using Cloudverse will receive support for visuals, metaeconomics, interactive functions, events, ongoing operations, and more. According to the companies, each metaverse space can be ready for business approximately a month after initial outreach.

Alibaba Cloud and Avalanche initially partnered in December to provide infrastructure and tools for Asia-based users to launch validators on the Avalanche network. The current partnership extends this collaboration with Cloudverse, aiming to help Asian enterprises enter the web3 space through the metaverse.
