Although most crypto experiences today occur through desktops, Saga has been optimized for mobile-first lifestyles, changing when and how people transact and setting new expectations for Web3 dApps.

With Saga, users can create instant NFTs from their phone pictures, manage their digital assets while out at night, and pay friends with crypto.

The company noted that people don’t live their lives tethered to a desktop and relying on in-wallet web browsing or in-app wallet support for mobile transactions, which have associated security risks, presents tradeoffs and challenges.

Saga users can take advantage of the Solana dApp Store, an app store that distributes Web3-native apps without the restrictive policies and high commission fees of other major Eeb2 app marketplaces.

The Solana dApp Store debuted with sixteen decentralized apps that offer a range of functionalities, including NFTs, DAOs, and staking, among others.

Saga users will be able to claim a Saga genesis token NFT, a device-specific NFT, upon setting up their device.

The genesis token forms the basis of the rewards program for Saga users, with apps listed on the Solana dApp Store offering Saga user-only benefits and rewards based on the ownership of the Saga genesis token.

The phone, which is available in the U.S., EU, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand, is available to customers who pre-ordered and will be available starting on May 8 for new orders.
