BNB Chain Releases BNB Greenfield Improving Data Storage and Ownership

$BNB Greenfield Decentralized Storage

$BNB Chain has announced the development of a new Web3 data storage and ownership infrastructure called $BNB Greenfield. The new infrastructure paradigm will put user ownership and flexibility back at the center of user data storage.

$BNB Chain is effectively inventing a new blockchain that will allow users and Decentralized Applications (Dapps) the ability to store, access, and manage their data with personal keys and private accessibility.

Working together with existing $BNB Chain applications, Greenfield will interact with the new blockchain and decentralized storage providers to usher in a “new economic paradigm for data storage in Web3,” according to $BNB Chain’s Growth Operations Director Alvin Kan.

Data storage and ownership have long been controversial topics in the transition from Web2 to Web3. Web2 institutions have a major, centralized grip on the storage of data and its ownership, where breaking this stranglehold can be seen as a disenthrallment from the control of centralized entities.

$BNB Chain lists the capabilities for $BNB Greenfield as follows:

Log-in ability with anonymous cryptographic-based keys (IDs)
Users can create, read and, execute data with familiar UX interfaces
Users completely own and manage their data assets, including programming and sharing
Users can leverage data ownership for financial gain

$BNB Chain confirmed that testnet for $BNB Greenfield is in development with Amazon Cloud Services, Nodereal, and Blockdaemon and expects to launch in a few months.
