The South Korean company Samsung, a global leader in electronics and software, announced on October 13 that it would implement a "private blockchain"-style security mechanism for its smart gadgets.

Blockchain' Security System

The Knox Matrix system aims to increase the security of a multi-device environment by having each smart device keep track of the activity of the others and communicate access information to improve the login experience through "multi-layered mutual monitoring." The technology was unveiled at the latest Samsung Developer Conference to update the business's security policy. The company did not go into great detail about the system's internal workings, though. Samsung claims its Knox Matrix system will streamline login processes throughout the home. This is so that devices within the house that need to connect to the network will automatically receive the login status. However, it should also prevent other network-connected devices from accessing sensitive data simultaneously. Samsung has been relatively active when putting security measures specifically for ecosystems based on blockchain technology or cryptocurrencies. The company announced the development of Bitcoin mining chips and built a wallet into its flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S10, as early as 2019. This wallet ensured the security of private keys via hardware-based techniques. The solution that Samsung had just introduced was based on security technology known as Knox, which was featured at the time.
