Cryptocurrency storage startup Casa has announced the launch of a new browser extension, as reported by CoinDesk. This software will allow its Lightning Network-enabled BTC nodes to be accessed directly from crypto websites.

Casa offers a secure wallet solution for the storage of BTC, ETH, LTC and a number of other crypto tokens. Its nodes are fully compatible with the Lightning Network, which is increasingly being implemented by major crypto services.

According to founder Jeremy Welch, the team has "been pushing out a lot of code...we know that people are going to get really engaged...We’ve got a lot more coming out this year. It’s just the beginning for 2019. The main thing right now if you’re using a Casa Node and your going … to any of these other [crypto] sites, you’re basically having to open a second browser tab to open the main Casa dashboard and enter in all the [payment] information somewhat manually".

Many Casa users have even written blog posts attempting to explain how the complex Lightning Network node connection process works. Casa's new browser extension will avoid these issues by offering direct one-click, in-browser functionality. It is initially available for the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
