Peter Schiff Warns Bitcoin Could Be in a Massive Bubble

  • Peter Schiff has renewed his criticism of Bitcoin, arguing that the cryptocurrency faces a potential bubble burst following recent political and market developments.
  • The economist links Bitcoin’s outlook to the Democrats’ victories in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections and growing pressure on technology stocks.
  • Institutional demand remains present, with U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recording $74.6 million in net inflows after the election.

Peter Schiff has issued another warning about Bitcoin, arguing that the digital asset could face a significant correction as investors reassess risk across financial markets. The longtime gold advocate believes political changes in Washington and weakness in technology stocks could put additional pressure on $BTC, although several indicators suggest that institutional interest in the cryptocurrency remains active.

In recent posts on X, Schiff argued that investors are paying more attention to a potential artificial intelligence (AI) market bubble while overlooking what he considers excessive valuations in Bitcoin. He also urged holders to sell before prices decline further.

While all the attention is focused on the deflating AI bubble, no one is talking about the Bitcoin bubble. The biggest difference between the two is that while AI has actual value, Bitcoin has none. The midterms supplied the final pin. Sell now before the air comes gushing out.

Peter Schiff Connects Bitcoin Risks To Political Changes

Schiff’s latest comments came after Democrats secured control of both chambers of Congress in the November 3 midterm elections. According to the Associated Press, the results represent a significant shift in Washington and could complicate President Donald Trump’s legislative agenda.

The economist believes the political outcome could weaken one of the factors supporting Bitcoin’s recent performance. He has repeatedly described Trump as a pro-Bitcoin president and argued that Republican lawmakers have generally shown greater support for digital assets.

Schiff also questioned whether cryptocurrency companies and major investors could maintain sufficient political influence under a Democratic-controlled Congress. However, electoral results do not automatically translate into restrictive cryptocurrency policies, and lawmakers from both parties have expressed interest in digital asset regulation.

Bitcoin Adoption Challenges Schiff’s Bearish Argument

Despite Schiff’s warnings, Bitcoin continues to benefit from developments that extend beyond short-term political sentiment. Institutional investment products, broader financial infrastructure and growing participation from traditional financial firms have expanded access to $BTC.

Recent market activity also offers a more complicated picture. Bitcoin fell below $76,000 following the election-related volatility and a broader technology stock selloff. However, U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted approximately $74.6 million in net inflows after the election, suggesting that some institutional investors viewed the decline as a buying opportunity.

These figures do not eliminate the possibility of further corrections, but they challenge the idea that demand for Bitcoin has disappeared. Its fixed supply of 21 million coins, decentralized monetary network and growing integration into investment markets remain important elements of its long-term investment case.
