As of October 8, SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) holds 18,712 Bitcoin ($BTC) on-chain, custodied through Coinbase Prime and worth $1.55 billion.
According to Arkham Intelligence, which was the first to identify the relevant addresses, SpaceX held the exact same number of $BTC following its initial public offering (IPO), although the position was then valued at significantly lower $1.19 billion.
The position slowly grew in value as Bitcoin itself rallied following the slump that characterized the majority of 2026. Indeed, the cryptocurrency has rallied approximately 30% since the SpaceX debut, shooting up from $63,547 on June 12 to $82,925 at press time, October 8:

For context, SpaceX’s Bitcoin holdings grew by roughly $366.69 million since the NASDAQ listing, $191.72 million being added between September 16 and October 6 alone thanks to September’s largely positive market environment.
Judging by the same Arkham data, the space company’s latest on-chain move was an $88 test transaction in July, meaning the firm has made virtually no changes to its $BTC portfolio since the IPO.

If SpaceX does not make any new moves, the value of its $BTC position will thus depend solely on the digita asset’s price. Currently, Bitcoin is facing some pressure following a wave of leveraged liquidations, as more than $546 million in crypto positions were liquidated in the 24 hours leading up to press time, roughly 88% of them long.
ETF flows have also turned negative. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded about $487.07 million in net outflows on October 7, their largest single-day withdrawal in weeks, while Federal Reserve minutes data released October 7 indicated that most officials believed another rate increase could be appropriate before year-end.
For now, Bitcoin’s next move is likely to depend on whether the $82,000 support zone holds. Some analysts are optimistic and see upside potential toward $87,000 by the end of the month. If such predictions come true, SpaceX’s $BTC holdings could be worth $1.62 billion by late October.
