“Cryptocurrency investment products recorded their highest weekly inflows of the year last week, totaling $3.55 billion globally, after two weeks of sideways trading.”
Bitcoin ($BTC) Topped the Charts!
Looking at crypto funds individually, inflows are concentrated in Bitcoin. $BTC experienced inflows of $2.52 billion, while the largest altcoin, Ethereum, saw inflows of $702 million.
Looking at other altcoins, XRP saw inflows of $92.3 million, while Solana experienced inflows of $193 million.
CoinShares also attributed the recovery partly to the decrease in uncertainty regarding US monetary policy.
“The size and spread of weekly demand indicate that institutional investors’ confidence has returned as the policy decision removed a significant source of uncertainty.”
This situation is consistent with the “buying the truth” trend (i.e., buying when the expected development occurs) that follows weeks of cautious waiting.
With capital inflows now showing a distinctly positive trend throughout the year, this process highlights how sensitive short-term demand has become to the macroeconomic calendar.
Looking at regional fund inflows and outflows, the US ranked first with an inflow of $3.43 billion.
After the US, Germany ranked second with $73.9 million in inflows, followed by Canada and Switzerland with $21.8 million and $20.9 million respectively.
