A wallet belonging to a large investor that had been inactive for a long time on the Bitcoin network has become active again. According to information from the on-chain data platform Onchain Lens, based on Arkham Intelligence data, a Bitcoin whale that had not made any transactions for approximately seven years and nine months transferred 2,931 BTC, worth approximately $188 million, to a new wallet address on Sunday.

According to the data, the wallet identified as “356my…BAsmK” transferred its assets to the address “bc1qn…8gp25”. Following the transfer, the recipient wallet did not perform any new transactions. This situation has left the uncertainty as to whether this transaction was for sale purposes or simply a wallet change for security and safekeeping.

These Bitcoins were last moved on October 23, 2018. At that time, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $6,475. Based on today’s prices, the value of the whale’s assets has increased by about tenfold. This indicates that the investor has accumulated significant untapped profits over the years.

The reactivation of large wallets that have been inactive for a long time in the cryptocurrency market is among the on-chain indicators closely watched by investors.

While large-scale transfers are sometimes interpreted as a sign of potential selling pressure, such transactions don’t always mean they are intended for sale on exchanges. Large investors may switch to new wallets or utilize institutional custody services for security reasons.

Similar movements were also seen during Bitcoin’s record price levels last year. In particular, the transfer of over $8.7 billion worth of Bitcoin from a wallet that had been inactive for approximately 14 years in July 2025 caused a wide stir in the market.

Experts say that the latest transfer, which also occurred during a period of increased on-chain activity, should be closely monitored, but it does not alone provide a definitive signal about price direction.
