Humanity Protocol is retiring its existing H token and replacing it with a new Ethereum-based version after a security breach impacted the ecosystem, according to a Tuesday statement.

A new audited ERC-20 token has been deployed, and eligible holders across Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Humanity Mainnet will receive replacement tokens based on balances captured in a snapshot taken before the attack, the team stated.

The project said addresses connected to the exploit have been identified and excluded from the airdrop process. Users holding H in standard wallets will receive tokens directly, while funds held through decentralized finance protocols and liquidity pools will be managed separately through a dedicated distribution mechanism.

As part of the recovery effort, Humanity Protocol plans to relaunch its mainnet in the coming weeks, with the new H token designated as the network’s native gas token. The team is also coordinating with exchanges and infrastructure providers to support the migration.

The protocol has also established a compensation fund and claims portal for unresolved edge cases and eligible post-snapshot token purchasers.
