Michael Saylor has made noteworthy statements regarding the renewed debate surrounding the identity of Bitcoin ($BTC) founder Satoshi Nakamoto.

An analysis published today in The New York Times suggested that Adam Back could be Satoshi, but Saylor approached these claims cautiously.

In a social media post, Saylor argued that stylometric analysis (writing style analysis) is interesting but cannot be considered conclusive evidence. “Styrometrics is an interesting field, but it’s not proof,” Saylor said, drawing particular attention to early communication records.

$BTC bull Saylor stated that past simultaneous email exchanges between Satoshi and Adam Back indicate that the two names refer to different individuals. He added that this weakens claims that Back is Satoshi.

Saylor also reiterated a long-accepted fundamental principle within the Bitcoin community: Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity can only be definitively verified with a signature using his private keys. “Unless it’s signed with Satoshi’s keys, every theory is just a trend,” he stated.
