Bad news for those expecting a rise in Bitcoin as the bear market continues.
One analyst closed the door on an uptrend, stating that $BTC’s downtrend is still strengthening.
Popular analyst Willy Woo, in a post from his X account, said, “I have bad news for those expecting a continuous rise. $BTC’s downtrend is still strengthening.”
Willy Woo, who uses volatility as a key metric, stated that Bitcoin enters a bear market when volatility rises rapidly.
The analyst noted that volatility is still rising, which means the bearish trend is strengthening.
Volatility then peaks in the middle and late stages of a bear market. That’s when the bear trend begins to weaken. However, currently, volatility continues to rise.
At this point, Willy Woo notes that the bear market is ongoing and consists of three distinct phases.
“Phase 1 – Beginning: This is the phase where $BTC liquidity collapses (this occurs in the 3rd quarter of 2025) and the price begins to move downwards.”
Because $BTC is a small asset, it is extremely sensitive to liquidity. Therefore, it often tends to steer the global macroeconomy towards bear markets months in advance.
When smart money exits the market, Bitcoin reacts quickly. At this stage, staunch believers argue that this is simply a bull market pullback.
Phase 2 – Global Equities Begin to Fall: This $100 trillion asset class is a slow-moving supertanker. This is the mid-phase of the $BTC bear market, where all risk assets are falling and there is no doubt that we are in a bear market.
Stage 3 – Final: In this stage, we see liquidity beginning to recover, capital outflows reaching their peak and beginning to stabilize. Investors gradually return. The final price drop usually occurs here, just before the peak of the outflows.”
Finally, the analyst stated that Bitcoin is currently in Phase 1 and is about to move to Phase 2.
