According to timechainindex.com stats, Coinbase now custodies 3,002,996 bitcoin—valued around $347 billion—up from 2,919,643 $BTC 57 days ago, a net gain of 83,353 $BTC since July 26.

Data collected from timechainindex.com and compared to a report published 57 days ago, exchange-traded funds or exchange-traded products (ETFs/ETPs) climbed to 1,167,616 $BTC, a gain of 22,940 $BTC. Blackrock’s IBIT leads at 765,293 $BTC, followed by Grayscale’s cache at 47,468 $BTC and Bitwise’s BITB at 41,008 $BTC.
The estimated figures show Wisdomtree sits with 12,273 $BTC; 21shares’ ABTC holds 8,555 $BTC, with smaller lines at Grayscale’s GDLC (5,722 $BTC), Franklin Templeton’s EZBC (5,703 $BTC), 21shares’ CBTC (3,436 $BTC), 3iq’s BTCQ (2,385 $BTC), and micro allocations to 21shares’ HODL (1,051 $BTC), HODLX (224 $BTC), MOON (145 $BTC), and HODLW (40 $BTC). This sleeve is broadly higher, with Blackrock‘s IBIT visibly larger than late July.
The onchain data claims centralized exchange (CEX) funds, held in custody by Coinbase, collectively hold 1,019,712 $BTC, down 25,501 $BTC from 1,045,213 $BTC in late July. Bitvavo carries 29,254 $BTC, Coinsquare 5,941 $BTC, and Newton 1,376 $BTC. Coinbase’s in-house exchange reserves remain the dominant share of this bucket, but the category overall is lower versus the prior snapshot 57 days ago.
Timechainindex.com’s figures say that company balances today total 340,083 $BTC, up 17,935 $BTC from 322,148 $BTC in July. The visible constituents include Tesla at 11,509 $BTC, SpaceX at 8,285 $BTC, and Sequans at 3,205 $BTC. The corporate sleeve is higher in aggregate versus late July.
Custodians register 266,807 $BTC on the chart. Abraxas Capital appears at 24,530 $BTC inside this group. Compared with our prior reporting in July that split out Prime custody and Prime accounts, the presentation has been consolidated under a single “Custodians” label from this perspective.
Over-the-counter (OTC) desk balances stand at 101,406 $BTC, an increase from 81,334 $BTC in July. Individuals are listed at 26,765 $BTC (described as “Individual X 05 · Xapo Bank Origin”). Bitcoin miners collectively hold 20,871 $BTC, up from 18,345 $BTC; among those shown are Cleanspark Inc. with 7,832 $BTC, Bitfarms with 1,097 $BTC, and American Bitcoin with 84 $BTC.
Taken together, the statistics gathered from timechainindex.com show ETF/ETP holdings expanding, CEX balances easing, corporates edging higher, OTC inventory growing, and miner balances ticking up a hair—all contributing to a Coinbase total of 3,002,996 bitcoin worth about $347 billion as of Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025.
