Truth Social, a company with ties to the family of US President Donald Trump, has filed a formal application with the SEC to list a spot Bitcoin ETF.
The platform’s subsidiary has filed a formal application to list and trade a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) called Truth Social Bitcoin ETF under Rule 8.201-E of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE Arca).
According to the filing documents, the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF aims to provide investors with exposure to Bitcoin through simpler, more traditional financial markets.
The ETF aims to provide investors with an investment experience that mimics the price movements of Bitcoin without having to deal with digital asset platforms or directly manage a Bitcoin wallet. Although the ETF shares are not directly equivalent to Bitcoin ownership, they are intended to reflect a value that is directly proportional to the amount of Bitcoin held by the fund.
