According to wallet data from Arkham Intelligence, investment and trading platform Robinhood (HOOD) holds over $3 billion in Bitcoin (BTC) in a single wallet that has pulled its holdings for several months.
Robinhood Announced as the Third Largest Bitcoin Owner with $3 Billion BTC
This makes it the third-largest Bitcoin holder after crypto exchanges Binance and Bitfinex, which hold $6.4 billion and $4.3 billion worth of tokens in a single wallet, respectively.
Robinhood transferred approximately 118,300 Bitcoins from several other small wallets to the wallet over a three-month period.
The wallet has gained notoriety among market watchers over the past few months, as the identity of its holders has sparked conversations and concerns over who the mysterious owner of such a large amount of Bitcoin might be.
The transfers have sparked speculation, from Bitcoin assets owned by financial giant BlackRock, which applied for a Bitcoin ETF earlier this year, to crypto exchange Gemini shifting its users' assets into a wallet.
The data shows that Robinhood transferred 118,300 Bitcoins from several other small wallets to the wallet over a three-month period. Arkham representatives have confirmed that these tokens are being held by crypto trading firm Jump Trading.
All these assets are held on the Bitcoin blockchain. According to data from BitInfoCharts, the first transactions were made on March 8 and then large amounts of Bitcoin were transferred by July 14.
