American NFL football player Saquon Barkley has revealed that he receives 100% of his sponsorship fees in bitcoin (BTC).
Sharing the news on Twitter was Joe Pompliano, the brother of Anthony Pompliano.

The Best Business Show is Anthony Pompliano‘s own live daily YouTube show, where Saquon Barkley and Strike CEO and founder Jack Mallers appeared on the most recent episode to share the news.
And indeed, this new partnership between the player and the payments company aims to convert all of Barkley’s sponsorship money into BTC. Strike will therefore be the one to commit to that goal.
Of course, the partnership could also have other purposes, since Barkley is also an investor in Strike. But, certainly, this news of the player earning substantial amounts of money from sponsors such as Nike, Visa and Pepsi does not go unnoticed.
In this regard, Mallers also added that this new fiat-to-BTC conversion solution for fees will be a service that will also be offered to the general public over the next 30-60 days.
Specifically, this would be a Strike fintech product that will allow the general consumer to take selected portions of their salary/compensation and dedicate them to cryptocurrency allocation.
The Strike product will allow the common consumer to take any selected portion of their salary and accelerate that portion to be allocated in crypto.
Saquon Barkley, another NFL player paid in bitcoin
In fact, this news from today shared by Barkley, adds up to the entire team being very supportive of Bitcoin and the crypto world in general.
At the end of April 2021, another NFL star, Sean Culkin of the Kansas City Chiefs, had announced through his Twitter profile that he would choose bitcoin as a means of getting paid.
And before that, at the end of 2020, there was also Russell Okung, who was the first ever NFL player to be paid in bitcoin. Here too, Strike was instrumental in making it all happen, as it started its first collaboration by converting 50% of Okung’s salary (of almost $6.5 million) into BTC.
The NFL, and specifically Barkley’s New York Giants team, became partners with Grayscale Investment early last May 2021, increasingly welcoming the crypto world.
