Hyperliquid ($HYPE) traded near $81.88 on October 28, rising approximately 5% over 24 hours as the $82–$83 ceiling came into focus. The recovery began around $74.50–$75, crossed $77.20–$77.60, and reclaimed $79.136, according to TradingView’s four-hour chart. Yet the resistance zone remained intact, leaving the latest advance without a confirmed breakout.

In this price analysis, the distinction matters: an intraday move above $82 does not equal a four-hour close above $83. ClosedCandle placed nearby resistance at $82.10 and support at $80.65 in its 09:00 UTC snapshot. That left Hyperliquid between a nearby ceiling and the $80 area, where earlier buying had steadied the market.

On the one-hour chart, ClosedCandle classified $HYPE’s structure as upward given that the price stood above its 50- and 200-period exponential moving averages. RSI reached 66.8, while confirmed bull flag and double bottom patterns reflected the recent rebound.
However, hourly volume measured only 0.62 times the average, leaving the advance without strong participation. Additionally, bearish RSI divergence on the 15-minute chart indicated weakening momentum despite higher price highs.
The four-hour picture was less decisive. Although RSI reached 65.6, volume remained at 0.84 times the average, and ClosedCandle maintained a sideways classification. Price held above the 50-period EMA but stayed below the 200-period EMA.
Meanwhile, confirmed falling wedge and double bottom patterns reflected the recovery, although October’s sequence of lower highs remained visible. Thus, hourly momentum had strengthened without matching confirmation from either the broader trend or the still-subdued four-hour trading volume.

$HYPE Futures Open Interest Hits $3.27B as Funding Stays Positive
Derivatives data offer another context. CoinGlass put $HYPE futures open interest at $3.27 billion, up 4.87%, with turnover reaching $1.73 billion. Nevertheless, spot turnover was considerably lower at $127.34 million.
HyperIntel recorded $1.69 billion in open interest on Hyperliquid alone. Its hourly funding rate stood at +0.0013%. TradRadar, meanwhile, reported +0.0088% across seven exchanges over eight hours. The figures covered different periods and markets, making direct comparisons unreliable.
Nevertheless, both positive readings indicate that long positions paid short positions. Rising open interest also signals greater futures exposure, without establishing sustained spot demand. Meanwhile, CoinGlass recorded $550,040 in short liquidations.
For $HYPE, an hourly close above $82.10 and a four-hour close above $82.50–$83, accompanied by stronger volume, would mark clearer breakout confirmation. The next reference levels are $84.62 and $87.10. Conversely, a drop below $80.65 would expose $79.97, $79.136, $77.20–$77.60, and $74.50.
