OpenAI’s ChatGPT has assigned $XRP just a 3% chance of touching $2 by October 31, 2026, arguing that a 52.7% rally from the asset’s current price would be difficult to achieve amid bearish technical signals and macroeconomic uncertainty.

In its assessment, ChatGPT estimated the probability of $XRP closing above $2 on October 31 at just 1%.

The $XRP price prediction reflects the cryptocurrency’s recent weakness, with the token down approximately 7.2% over seven days, trading at $1.31 as of press time, compared with a roughly 1.9% decline across the broader cryptocurrency market.

ChatGPT identified $1.28 to $1.29 as the immediate support zone, with a break below $1.28 potentially exposing $XRP to the September 16 low near $1.2461.

On the upside, $XRP would first need to reclaim $1.35, followed by the $1.42 to $1.45 range. ChatGPT identified a breakout above $1.60 to $1.70 as a more convincing signal that buyers were overcoming selling pressure.

ChatGPT said it would become more optimistic about the $XRP $2 price target if the token reclaimed $1.45, broke through the $1.60 to $1.70 resistance zone, and attracted stronger buying alongside a recovery in Bitcoin.

The technical picture remains weak. To this end, $XRP’s daily Relative Strength Index (RSI) recently stood at 36.37, below the neutral 50 level but not yet in conventional oversold territory below 30.

$XRP’s need for technical recovery

ChatGPT’s assessment is that $XRP needs a sustained technical recovery, rather than a brief price bounce, to make the $2 target more credible.

ChatGPT also identified inflation, whale activity, and Ripple’s upcoming escrow release as risks to $XRP’s recovery. To this end, US inflation rose to 3.7% in September, above the 3.6% consensus, potentially weighing on risk assets.

Meanwhile, CoinStats data indicated that 1.669 billion $XRP had moved to Binance over 30 days, a seven-month high in its whale-deposit metric, although transfers do not necessarily signal selling.

Ripple is also set to unlock up to 1 billion $XRP on November 1, with some tokens potentially returning to escrow.

However, institutional demand offers a counterpoint. US spot $XRP ETFs recorded $11.31 million in net inflows in the week ending October 9, extending their positive streak to 13 weeks.

Ripple’s expanding institutional partnerships and RLUSD adoption could support its ecosystem, but do not necessarily translate into stronger demand for $XRP.
