Orca [$ORCA] became one of the day’s strongest-performing altcoins after registering a double-digit spike.
The token’s price rose around 12% over the past 24 hours to $2.84. Trading Volume doubled to $384 million over the same period.
The rally came as renewed interest in the Solana ecosystem coincided with gains across several altcoins. STRK, World Mobile Token, and NPC also recorded double-digit gains over the past 24 hours.

$ORCA appeared to benefit from that renewed interest. But could traders keep the rally going as leverage climbed?

Who was backing $ORCA’s rally?
According to AMBCrypto’s analysis of Orca’s derivatives data, Derivatives Trading Volume surged 239% to $616 million. That jump showed increased trading activity accompanied the rally, giving the move more backing than a price spike alone.
As a rule of thumb, rising volume alongside price can suggest stronger participation. However, volume alone cannot establish whether buyers will sustain the move.

Meanwhile, Open Interest climbed to $9.86 million, suggesting traders were building positions as $ORCA gained ground. That could leave the token more sensitive to sharp price swings. Still, Open Interest alone does not show whether those positions favor further gains.
The rally had attracted more activity. The next test was whether $ORCA could hold its support.

Can $ORCA hold $2.50 and reach $3.90?
Technically, holding above the $2.50 support remained necessary for the current uptrend to continue. Defending that level could improve $ORCA’s chances of approaching the next significant resistance at $3.90.
The Liquidation Heatmap also showed a $6.93 million liquidity cluster around that resistance. That gave traders a potential upside target, although the cluster alone could not confirm that $ORCA would reach it.
There was another test ahead: the FOMC meeting minutes were scheduled for release at 18:00 UTC.
The release could influence risk appetite across the crypto market. A hawkish reading might encourage profit-taking, while a supportive market reaction could give $ORCA’s rally another push.
With Open Interest rising, either reaction could bring sharper swings around the token’s key levels.

Final Summary
$ORCA gained 12% as Trading Volume and Open Interest rose, signaling increased participation and potential volatility.
Holding $2.50 could support a push toward $3.90, while the FOMC minutes could influence market sentiment.
