Zcash ($ZEC) gained approximately 16% over 24 hours, outperforming a sharply weaker cryptocurrency market following the CLARITY Act’s failed Senate vote and the Fed interest rate hike.
Bitcoin briefly dropped below $75,700 on Wednesday but has now reclaimed $76,500, while Ethereum is trading above $2,440.
Zcash’s resilience was accompanied by a reported 14% increase in trading volume, suggesting stronger market participation.
Rising use of shielded transactions and a bullish consolidation pattern could support a move toward $1,750, although weakening social activity introduces a potential warning signal.
Zcash outperforms wider crypto market
$ZEC has repeatedly separated from broader cryptocurrency trends during recent market downturns.
The privacy token has gained approximately 163% since the beginning of the year, placing it among the strongest-performing large cryptocurrencies.
It has also overtaken Hyperliquid’s $HYPE token by market capitalization after $HYPE declined almost 6.5% over seven days.
Zcash’s latest advance came as uncertainty surrounding US cryptocurrency regulation weighed heavily on competing assets.
The CLARITY Act failed to clear the Senate’s procedural threshold, reducing expectations that comprehensive digital-asset legislation will pass in 2026.
Zcash’s privacy technology may be supporting demand for the token. Shielded transactions represented 47% of all activity processed by the network as of last week, according to ZecHub.
These transactions conceal information such as the sender, recipient, and transferred amount.
The high share of shielded activity indicates that users are actively using the privacy functionality underpinning Zcash’s primary use case.
Zcash has also completed its migration to the Ironwood vault. The successful transition may help rebuild confidence in the project’s development and security after earlier credibility concerns.
In addition, Zcash holders overwhelmingly backed proposals tied to the next major network upgrade, NU7.
The proposals would reduce Zcash’s target block spacing from 75 seconds to 25 seconds while retaining its Bitcoin-inspired halving schedule.
Nearly 2.4 million $ZEC participated in the coin-weighted poll, out of roughly 3.6 million $ZEC eligible to vote.
Furthermore, Zcash Labs committed $80,000 toward integrating Zcash's latest Ironwood pool into Ledger devices, enabling holders to self-custody their $ZEC tokens.
Despite $ZEC’s price strength, social-media metrics have recently weakened. Online mentions of Zcash have declined, and the seven-day moving average appears to be crossing below the 30-day average.
Such a bearish crossover can signal that public attention and speculative interest are fading.
The latest rally could reverse that trend by attracting new discussion, but continued weakness in social engagement would create a divergence from the token’s rising price.
Trading activity has nevertheless strengthened, with reported 24-hour volume increasing by 14%.
The source’s stated volume total and market-cap percentage appear internally inconsistent, so the percentage increase is the more usable figure.
$ZEC breakout could target $1,750
Zcash’s daily chart shows a bullish pattern following its rally towards $1,400.
A similar structure appeared after $ZEC initially rallied to $900. The token subsequently broke out and advanced to a new local peak.
A confirmed move above $1,300 has placed the next technical target near $1,750.
The longer-term bullish target remains around $2,500, based on a recently completed breakout from an ascending-triangle pattern.

That projection should be treated as a technical scenario rather than a guaranteed outcome.
$ZEC’s ability to reach it will depend on broader market conditions, continued privacy-feature adoption, and demand following its rapid year-to-date appreciation.
The Federal Reserve has since raised rates by 25 basis points to 3.75%–4%, removing the pre-decision uncertainty referenced in the original analysis.
Zcash’s ability to remain resilient as markets digest tighter policy will now be central to the bullish thesis.
