$XRP appears to have achieved a breakout in the early hours of September 14 by crossing the critical threshold at $1.38 and reaching $1.387 by press time on the day.

The token’s next price target, per the estimates of the popular trading expert and on-chain analyst Ali Martinez, stands at $1.60, meaning a 15.27% upsurge can be expected.

IT’S HAPPENING!$XRP appears to be breaking out.

Indeed, on Sunday, September 13, Martinez explained that, following the August rally and subsequent partial pullback, $XRP has managed to hold a key support zone between $1.31 and $1.35.

Should the cryptocurrency manage a push above $1.38, the analyst explained at the time, it will have broken a critical resistance level, enabling it to soar as high as $1.60.

Lastly, Ali Martinez initially laid out the $XRP bull case that appears to have started on Monday morning, already on Saturday.

The analyst not only provided a stretch goal for the cryptocurrency’s rally – $1.68 – on the day, but also explained that the drop in daily active addresses from 388,492 to 38,163 indicates that participation has collapsed amidst the correction and that the profit-taking that took the token down from the recent $1.70 highs is at an end.

Notably, several traders, observers, and commentators took the drop in cryptocurrency trader activity as a bullish signal, considering it indicated a reduction in upward resistance in the weeks ahead of the market-wide upsurge of late August.

Is the 2026 cryptocurrency bear market over?

Meanwhile, the recent rally and the subsequent correction and consolidation led multiple investors and analysts to hope that the 2026 digital assets bear market is at an end.

Specifically, after the world’s premier cryptocurrency, Bitcoin ($BTC), reached a new all-time high (ATH) in late 2025, a strong downtrend gripped the market. $BTC, for example, fell 28% between January 1 and August 15, but subsequent performance reduced the year-to-date (YTD) losses to 11.08%.

$XRP saw similar trading, and it was down more than 46% by the middle of the previous month but, at press time, the YTD drop is smaller and amounts to 24.64%.

Still, even if the latest breakout leads to an upsurge toward $1.60, a sustained bull market is not guaranteed. The coming weeks and months promise significant instability as the fate of the CLARITY Act remains uncertain ahead of the Midterms, and geopolitical risks hold the potential to weigh heavily on the cryptocurrency market.
