Filecoin ($FIL) has entered September with renewed momentum after a sharp recovery lifted the token above several important technical levels. $FIL recently traded near $0.79 after gaining 13.73% over 24 hours and 10.90% over seven days.
Trading volume also reached about $243.25 million, showing stronger market participation during the latest advance. The rally pushed $FIL from the $0.65-$0.70 region toward the $0.81 area. Consequently, traders now face a critical test that could determine whether the recovery develops into a larger trend reversal.
Bulls Regain Control
$FIL has reclaimed several technical levels that previously limited its recovery. The token now trades above its 20-day EMA at $0.7178 and 50-day EMA at $0.7271. Additionally, $FIL remains above its 100-day EMA near $0.7742.
Momentum indicators also support the recent move. The +DI reading stands at 31.79, compared with 19.30 for -DI. Meanwhile, ADX sits near 21.74, suggesting that directional momentum continues to strengthen.
Significantly, $FIL has also recovered the 0.618 Fibonacci level around $0.7641. However, the 0.786 Fibonacci level at $0.8055 now presents the immediate challenge.

A decisive daily close above $0.8055 could attract additional buyers. Hence, $FIL could then target $0.8582, followed by the psychological $0.90 level.
Derivatives Signal Caution
The derivatives market presents a more mixed picture. Filecoin’s open interest has generally declined despite several temporary surges during the year.
Open interest once climbed above $450 million as speculative activity intensified. Later, repeated liquidations and position closures pushed OI substantially lower.
Currently, open interest stands near $198.4 million. This level suggests that traders have started rebuilding positions around $FIL’s latest price recovery.
However, the lower OI base indicates less leverage than earlier market peaks. Therefore, the current rally may face less aggressive speculative pressure.
Spot Flows Remain a Concern
Spot-market activity provides another warning for $FIL bulls. Exchange flows have maintained a broad net-outflow pattern, with negative readings appearing more frequently than positive ones.
Recent outflows have remained relatively modest compared with earlier periods. $FIL recorded approximately $274,580 in net outflows on September 2.
Moreover, persistent outflows can signal continued distribution and cautious investor behavior. That trend could limit $FIL’s upside if buying demand fails to strengthen.
Technical Outlook for Filecoin Price
Key levels remain clearly defined heading into September:
Upside levels: $0.8055 and $0.8098–$0.8100 represent the immediate hurdles. A decisive breakout could push $FIL toward $0.8582, followed by $0.90 and $0.9332.
Downside levels: $0.7641 provides the first major support, followed by $0.7358, $0.7271, and $0.7178. Deeper support sits around $0.7062 and $0.6700.
Resistance ceiling: The $0.9332 200-day EMA remains the key level to reclaim for stronger medium-term bullish momentum.
The technical setup shows $FIL recovering strongly after rebounding from the $0.65–$0.70 region. Momentum indicators now favor buyers, while $FIL trades above its 20-, 50-, and 100-day EMAs. However, declining open interest and persistent spot outflows suggest that traders should remain cautious.
Will Filecoin Go Up?
Filecoin’s September outlook depends heavily on whether buyers can sustain momentum above $0.8055. A breakout supported by stronger trading activity could open the path toward $0.8582 and $0.90. Moreover, reclaiming the $0.9332 200-day EMA could strengthen the broader recovery narrative.
However, rejection near $0.81 could trigger a pullback toward $0.7641. Losing that level would weaken the setup and expose $FIL to lower supports.
For now, $FIL sits at a pivotal technical zone. Price strength needs confirmation from stronger spot accumulation and healthier derivatives positioning before the recovery can develop into a sustained uptrend.
