$XRP Price Analysis: Can Buyers Defend $1.35?

$XRP Price Analysis (Source: TradingView)

$XRP trades at $1.3665 after falling 0.96%. Price has formed a descending triangle since its August rally from about $1.00 to $1.70.

Analyst Ali Charts flagged the $1.35 to $1.38 zone as one of the most significant demand levels on the chart, noting roughly 3.2 billion $XRP were previously traded in that exact range.

He identified resistance levels above at $1.60, $1.68, and $1.86, with a breakout above $1.86 potentially opening the path toward $2.19.

The Parabolic SAR remains above the price at $1.6852, showing that sellers still control the short-term trend. However, $XRP remains above its 20-day EMA at $1.3055 and 50-day EMA at $1.2112.

September Seasonality: No Clear Direction, But a Few Huge Outliers

$XRP has posted seven positive and seven negative Septembers since 2013, a true coin flip historically.

The average return sits at a lofty +12.7%, but the median is slightly negative at -0.28%, a gap explained by a handful of massive rallies, including +94.4% in September 2013 and +73.2% in September 2018, that skew the average without reflecting a typical month.

$XRP ETF Inflows Reach About $1.79 Billion

$XRP ETF flows have been surprisingly resilient. Money in the aggregate has mostly only gone one direction and now they have a total of $1.8 billion in cumulative net inflows. — James Seyffart (@JSeyff) August 31, 2026

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart said $XRP ETF flows have been “surprisingly resilient,” noting that aggregate money has “mostly only gone one direction” since launch. Cumulative net inflows into US spot $XRP ETFs reached approximately $1.79 billion as of August 26, up from around $150 million in November 2025, a roughly $1.64 billion increase over that stretch. Seyffart called the consistency particularly notable given how volatile $XRP’s own price action has been over the same period.

US spot $XRP ETFs also recorded $110.49 million in net inflows during the week ending August 28, crossing $100 million in weekly inflows for the first time since the week ending December 5, 2025.

On the institutional side, Seyffart’s review of Q2 13F filings showed Goldman Sachs as the largest holder among reporting firms, with about $87.45 million in $XRP ETF exposure, up more than 83 million $XRP over the quarter. Jane Street Group and Millennium Management followed with smaller but still growing positions.

$XRP News: Ripple Unlocks 1 Billion $XRP, Escrow Falls to 31.28 Billion

Ripple released 1 billion $XRP on September 1 through three separate transactions of 500 million, 400 million, and 100 million tokens, part of its regular monthly escrow schedule that’s run since December 2017. Approximately 31.28 billion $XRP remained in escrow afterward, according to independent on-ledger tracking.

The release makes $XRP available to Ripple but doesn’t confirm any market sale. Ripple has historically returned unused portions of each monthly unlock back into new escrows, typically re-locking between 600 million and 800 million $XRP after each release, though September’s specific re-escrow amount wasn’t independently confirmed at the time of reporting. The next scheduled unlock arrives October 1.

$XRP Price Prediction September 2026: Upside and Downside Targets

Bullish Case, Target: $1.86

$XRP holds the $1.35 to $1.38 support zone and breaks above the descending triangle’s resistance near $1.55 on a daily close. Continued strength in ETF inflows, now crossing $100 million weekly for the first time since December, would support a push through the $1.60 and $1.68 resistance zones toward the $1.86 level Ali Charts flagged as the key breakout point.

Bearish Case, Risk Level: $1.20 (Near 50-Day EMA)

$XRP loses the $1.35 support zone that Ali Charts identified as one of the most significant demand levels on the chart, confirming the descending triangle breaks lower instead of higher. Uncertainty around how much of Ripple’s September escrow release eventually reaches the market, combined with September’s historically mixed seasonality, could send price back toward the 50-day EMA near $1.2112.

$XRP Price Prediction FAQs

What is the $XRP price prediction for September 2026?

$XRP could rise toward $1.86 if it breaks above $1.55. Losing the $1.35 support area would increase the risk of a decline toward $1.20.

What is $XRP’s main support level?

The main support area is between $1.35 and $1.38. Approximately 3.2 billion $XRP were previously traded in this range, making it an important demand zone.

Can $XRP reach $2 in September 2026?

$XRP would first need to break $1.55, $1.68 and $1.86. A move above $1.86 would bring $2 and $2.19 within reach, but the current chart has not confirmed that breakout.

Will Ripple’s 1 billion $XRP unlock lower the price?

Not necessarily. An unlock makes the tokens available to Ripple, but it does not confirm a sale. Ripple typically returns much of the monthly release to escrow.
