Bitlayer’s $BTR token has entered a dramatic rally, gaining 147.76% in 24 hours and 465.20% over seven days. The surge has pushed $BTR toward $0.16 after months of relatively muted market activity. Trading volume has also climbed to about $330.7 million, highlighting the sudden increase in market attention.
Consequently, traders now face a market driven by strong momentum, expanding leverage, and an approaching token unlock. $BTR currently carries a market value of roughly $41.5 million from 260 million circulating tokens. However, the rapid advance has also increased the risk of sharp price swings if buyers lose control.
Momentum Drives $BTR Toward New Highs
$BTR remains firmly bullish on the four-hour chart after breaking through several resistance levels. The token currently trades well above its 20, 50, 100, and 200 EMAs. Those averages sit near $0.0856, $0.0562, $0.0426, and $0.0333, respectively.
Moreover, the wide gap between price and these averages highlights the strength of the current move. $BTR recently reached about $0.17865, creating the first major hurdle for buyers. A sustained four-hour close above that level could open the path toward $0.20.
Beyond that level, traders could target the previous major high around $0.237 to $0.238. However, the rally has become increasingly stretched after its rapid ascent.

The Stoch RSI currently sits around 78.19 and 84.63 and points lower from overbought territory. Hence, $BTR could experience consolidation before attempting another breakout.
Leverage Adds a New Risk
The derivatives market has changed dramatically alongside the spot rally. $BTR open interest remained mostly below $10 million for several months before accelerating sharply during August.
Open interest climbed from roughly $3 million to more than $20 million before accelerating further. By August 27, the figure had reached approximately $103.19 million.
Significantly, that expansion shows that traders have committed substantially more capital to leveraged positions. Additionally, rising open interest can amplify both gains and losses during sharp market moves.
Consequently, another price breakout could attract additional leveraged traders. However, a sudden reversal could trigger liquidations and intensify selling pressure.
Token Unlock Creates Another Test
$BTR’s latest spot flow data offers a more balanced picture despite the explosive price rally. Earlier inflows briefly exceeded $3 million, signaling stronger buying activity during February.
However, March brought substantial selling pressure, with outflows reaching roughly $4.5 million. Since then, exchange flows have remained comparatively close to neutral.
The latest reading shows a modest net outflow of around $5,360. Therefore, current flow data does not yet indicate aggressive distribution despite the price surge.
Meanwhile, Bitlayer has scheduled an unlock involving 1.92% of total supply, worth approximately $2.8 million. Investors and advisors account for 8.43 million $BTR, while ecosystem incentives represent 6.25 million tokens.
Node incentives add another 3.22 million $BTR, with public distribution accounting for 1.3 million tokens. However, the unlock itself does not guarantee immediate selling.

$BTR unlocks today, and there's a lot of noise about it again.
Only 1.92% of supply unlocks, ~$2.8M. Here's who gets it:

• Ecosystem Incentive: 6.25M $BTR ($907.81K), tokens to grow the… https://t.co/8z8OLaiE2T pic.twitter.com/edfX9oN9LP
What matters next involves the destination of those tokens and whether recipients move them toward exchanges. Besides, limited exchange deposits could reduce immediate selling pressure.
Technical Outlook for Bitlayer Price
Key levels remain well-defined as Bitlayer ($BTR) enters a high-volatility phase:
Upside levels: $0.17865 is the immediate resistance. A breakout could open the path toward $0.20, followed by the $0.237–$0.238 region.
Downside levels: $0.14486 is the first support, followed by $0.11833, $0.09970, and $0.08107. These levels could become important if the current rally loses momentum.
Momentum ceiling: $0.17865 remains the key level to flip for further bullish continuation. A sustained 4H close above it could confirm another leg higher.
Will Bitlayer Go Up?
Bitlayer’s near-term outlook depends on whether buyers can defend $0.14486 after its explosive rally. The sharp increase in open interest adds conviction but also increases liquidation risk. Meanwhile, the August 27 token unlock could introduce additional supply, although only 1.92% of total supply enters circulation.
If $BTR breaks $0.17865 with strong volume, momentum could carry the price toward $0.20 and potentially $0.238. However, failure to hold $0.14486 could trigger a deeper correction toward $0.
