RAIN hits a record after 7.4B token burn: can bulls push past $0.02?

$RAIN price rallied more than 20% on Aug. 26 as a large token burn cut its circulating supply and fresh trading access on Hyperliquid added to demand for the prediction-market token.

$RAIN was trading near $0.0177 at the time of writing, up roughly 20.7% over the past 24 hours and 35.8% over the past week.

Trading volume stood above $44 million, while the token had earlier climbed to a new all-time high of $0.01946 before giving back part of the move.

The main catalyst behind the rally was the permanent removal of 7.42 billion $RAIN tokens from circulation on Aug. 25, completing Rain Protocol's first DAO Credit Refund settlement.

Rain burned exactly 7,419,354,838 $RAIN acquired through the settlement, equal to about 1.035% of circulating supply.

The tokens were valued at roughly $108 million when they were destroyed, reducing the resulting circulating supply to roughly 709.17 billion $RAIN.

The burn followed a governance process tied to Rain's Credit Refund program.

The community approved a settlement under which the Rain Foundation committed $23 million in $USDT to purchase remaining locked allocations at $0.0031 per token.

All $RAIN acquired through that process was designated for permanent removal from circulation.

The timing gave traders an immediate supply-side catalyst. Rain's tokenomics already use a deflationary model in which 2.5% of trading volume from each market is allocated to $RAIN buybacks and burns.

The latest burn was separate from those routine market-linked burns but removed a much larger block of tokens at once.

Another catalyst was $RAIN becoming available for trading on Hyperliquid.

The new market gives the token access to traders on one of the most active on-chain trading venues and came shortly before the latest price surge.

Rain Protocol's expansion plans have also provided a fundamental backdrop for the rally.

The project committed $100 million in liquidity earlier this year as it prepared Rain V2 and expanded its prediction-market infrastructure around the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The commitment consisted of $50 million in $USDT and $50 million in $RAIN and helped place the protocol among the three largest prediction markets by total value locked at the time.

Rain V2 is expected to add an on-chain order book and systems for market creation and resolution while allowing the protocol to handle higher activity around major global events.

That expansion is particularly relevant to $RAIN because higher trading activity feeds into the protocol's existing buyback-and-burn mechanism.

$RAIN price action

$RAIN's daily chart shows that the latest rally has pushed the token decisively out of the trading range that had contained price for much of July and August.

The move accelerated after $RAIN cleared the $0.015 area and reached a new high around $0.0195 before pulling back toward $0.0177.

The daily VWAP sits near $0.01787, putting $RAIN slightly below the indicator at the time of writing. That makes the $0.0179-$0.0180 area an important short-term level.

A daily move back above VWAP would show that buyers are absorbing the selling that followed the spike and could prepare the token for another attempt at its recent high.

The daily Chaikin Money Flow gives the stronger bullish signal. CMF stands at roughly 0.29, well above the zero line and close to its strongest readings in recent months.

The indicator shows that capital has continued flowing into $RAIN during the broader rally despite the pullback from the latest high.

Volume also expanded as $RAIN broke above its previous August highs.

The combination of elevated volume and positive CMF gives the breakout stronger support than price alone, although the long upper wick around $0.0195 shows that sellers emerged quickly near the new high.

The 4-hour chart shows where the rally becomes more vulnerable. $RAIN remains above the Supertrend at roughly $0.0158, keeping the shorter-term trend bullish.

The indicator flipped positive during the latest breakout and remains well below the current price, leaving buyers with room before the 4-hour trend would technically reverse.

However, the 14-period ATR has surged to roughly $0.00068 after spending much of the previous period around $0.0002-$0.0003. That sharp increase means volatility has expanded considerably.

Larger intraday swings and deeper pullbacks are therefore possible even while the underlying trend remains bullish.

The immediate test is the $0.0179-$0.0180 region around the daily VWAP.

Reclaiming that area could open another move toward $0.0190, followed by the roughly $0.0195 high.

A sustained breakout above $0.0195 would put the psychological $0.0200 level in focus, with $0.0210 becoming the next probable upside target if volume remains elevated.

If $RAIN cannot recover above VWAP, the first support sits around $0.0170.

Below that, the $0.0160-$0.0158 region becomes more important because it lines up closely with the 4-hour Supertrend.

A break below $0.0158 would weaken the current setup and could send $RAIN back toward the previous breakout zone around $0.0145-$0.0150.

For now, the positive daily CMF and bullish 4-hour Supertrend favor another upside attempt, while the elevated ATR and rejection from $0.0195 leave room for further consolidation before that happens.
