The Altcoin Season Index, a key indicator closely followed by investors in the cryptocurrency market, measures the performance of altcoins against Bitcoin, revealing which asset class is stronger in the market.

According to data published by CoinMarketCap (CMC), the index is currently at 48/100, indicating that the market is still in “Bitcoin season” territory.

The Altcoin Season Index is calculated by analyzing the performance of the top 100 cryptocurrencies against Bitcoin over the past 90 days. If at least 75% of these assets outperform Bitcoin, the market is considered to be in “Altcoin Season”; otherwise, it’s considered “Bitcoin Season”. The current level of 48 points indicates that altcoins are beginning to gain strength, but a full-fledged altcoin season hasn’t yet begun.

Looking at the index’s recent performance, an upward trend is noticeable. The index, which was at 44 yesterday, 36 last week, and 30 last month, has been increasing gradually.

Data shows that while Bitcoin has experienced a decline of approximately 15.7% in the last 90 days, some altcoins have performed much more strongly compared to $BTC. For example, projects such as River ($RIVER) with a 656% increase, Kite ($KITE) with a 145% increase, CC (CC) with a 115% increase, Stable ($STABLE) with an 88% increase, Morpho ($MORPHO) with a 65% increase, LayerZero ($ZRO) with a 58% increase, and $DEXE with a 53% increase have recorded remarkable gains in the last 90 days.
