YouTube viewership data, a key indicator of individual investor interest in cryptocurrency markets, is experiencing a noticeable decline.

Over the past three months, viewership for crypto-themed YouTube channels has sharply declined, reaching its lowest levels since January 2021. Industry analysts attribute this trend to the overall market slowdown and shifts in investor sentiment.

According to data shared by crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen, the 30-day average viewership numbers on leading crypto YouTube channels are steadily declining. Cowen emphasized that this decline is not limited to individual channels but indicates a structural downturn encompassing almost all crypto content creators.

Similarly, commentator Tom Crown stated that interest in crypto content has decreased significantly since October 2025, not only on YouTube but also on various social media platforms.

According to experts, this decline in social media engagement indicates that the crypto markets are once again entering a “bear market” mentality. Tom Crown noted that social interest has fallen to its lowest levels since 2021, suggesting that individual investors are withdrawing from the market.

Commentators point out that the fatigue among individual investors stems from frequent fraud incidents, manipulative price movements known as “pump-and-dump,” and a loss of confidence. During this process, many small investors are turning to precious metals like gold and silver instead of crypto assets, while institutional investors are increasingly taking a decisive role in the crypto market. This picture reveals that the current cycle is predominantly shaped by institutional actors.
