The freelancer by the name Arewa Lanre shared with the world what ensued between him and a client who lured him to go to “Thecrypted.com”.

He said he was given a brand development contract, however, the client demanded that he be paid in Bitcoin and insisted he opened an account on Thecrypted.com where the Bitcoin would be transferred.

Immediately Arewa opened the account and forwarded the supposed BTC address to his client, he was alerted of an advance payment of $3936, requesting he starts work immediately.

Detailing how the event happened on Youtube, Arewa said he discovered he could not transfer the fund to another BTC address and cannot sell on the platform. On trying to solve the issue, Arewa said he was told to submit some documents for verification. However, after he had submitted the documents, he was still denied access to the fund.

The website told him that his “source of funds” is not accepted. During this period, Arewa said he had forwarded the “signed contract agreement,” his conversations with the client, and necessary links and screenshots that confirmed the deal was genuine.

After he kept on conversing with the customer support at “Thecrypted.com,” the platform demanded that he verify his account just by “depositing 0.025btc” for immediate activation.

Arewa, who immediately sensed that the client may be the handler of the same crypto exchange, research on the website to know how authentic they are.

He said one “Josh Brooks” who brags as the Senior Technical Support Manager for Thecrypted.com had sent him an email demanding 0.025 BTC for instant verification.
