ZachXBT tweeted about the Alphapo hot wallet theft. Additionally, it is reported that TRON and BTC worth $37 mln were stolen. The total amount of funds stolen from Alphapo has now risen to $60 mln. The theft raised security concerns and exposed potential vulnerabilities in the crypto ecosystem.
According to previous ZachXBT monitoring reports, it was initially reported that the Alphapo hot wallet had been breached, leading to a theft of $23 mln. In response to the attack, the Alphapo HyperDrop client took immediate action by disabling withdrawals to prevent further losses.
The investigation into the theft revealed an intricate web of transactions revealing a complex and well-coordinated operation. The stolen funds were first moved to the Ethereum network, allegedly in an attempt to obfuscate the source and origin of the funds. They were subsequently linked to the Avalanche and Bitcoin (BTC) network to cover up the hacker's tracks.
