The cryptocurrency exchange Liquid is going to be the first hosting Telegram’s Gram tokens as soon as they go on public sale. The information was announced in a recent press release. In this way, Liquid.com will lead the public sale of Telegram Open Network (TON).
Liquid To Lead The Public Sale of TON
During the last years, Telegram has been working on a digital currency and blockchain network for users of the platform. The name of the blockchain network is TON and it will be powered by the Gram token. The token sale of the Gram virtual currency is going to be hosted on the Liquid platform.
At the moment, the Gram token can only be purchased by users on public markets and can only be bought once it is released on secondary listing platforms such as exchanges. The platform Liquid hosted the Qash token sale back in 2017 and it sold out 350 million Qas tokens. Users paid for them a total of $105 million in just three days.
As per the press release, the Gram token sale will take place on Liquid on July 10th, 2019 at 8:00 am UTC. Investors on the Liquid platform will be able to purchase the digital asset with USD and the stablecoin USD Coin (USDC). It is worth mentioning that users will have to be verified and have funded their Liquid account. That means that individuals will have to submit a government ID and also a selfie.
The Launch of the TON Blockchain network is expected to take place by October 31st, 2019. The proceeds from the Gram token will be kept in custody of Liquid and will be fully refunded in the event the TON mainnet is not launched.
Mike Kayamori, the co-founder and CEO of Liquid, said:

He went on saying that with the TON network, Telegram would be able to enhance its capabilities as a peer to peer network of value.
