eCurrency has introduced its Secure eOffline CBDC solution, designed to support digital currency payments without a stable internet or mobile connection. The company recently demonstrated the technology in Africa across different use cases and user groups.
eCurrency is a provider of digital currency infrastructure. Its new eOffline solution allows consumers, merchants and government agencies to send and receive central bank digital currencies even when networks are unavailable.
The system connects online and offline payment environments and works with devices from different partners. These include mobile phones, smart cards and other dedicated payment hardware. The solution is designed to extend the security of eCurrency’s existing CBDC infrastructure to offline transactions.
