Lithic, a card issuing and payment processing platform, and Lightspark, a company developing infrastructure for global money transfers, have announced a partnership to launch a new card program on the Visa network. Lead Bank issues the cards, while settlements are carried out in the $USDC.
$USDC settlement is built directly into the Lightspark platform. User balances are stored natively in stablecoins and automatically converted into local currency when a purchase is made. This allows the card program to use the same settlement infrastructure as the rest of the company’s payment network.
Lithic provides the technological foundation for transaction processing through its Authorization Intelligence system. The platform combines payment authorization, device authentication, and fraud protection into a single programmable infrastructure. Instead of managing these processes separately, Lightspark can control every stage of a card transaction through one system.
