Anchorage Digital, operator of the federally regulated crypto bank in the United States, announced support for custody of tokenized CETES, Mexican government debt issued by Etherfuse on the Stellar blockchain.
CETES are short-term treasury certificates issued by the Mexican government and are considered one of the country’s most widely used debt instruments. Under the new arrangement, Etherfuse, a company focused on tokenized financial products, converts the underlying government securities into blockchain-based assets. Stellar, a network designed for fast and low-cost transfers, provides the infrastructure for on-chain transactions, while Anchorage Digital is responsible for institutional custody.
The launch follows Anchorage Digital’s recent partnership with Grupo Salinas, a Mexican conglomerate operating across finance, retail, and telecommunications. That collaboration focused on cross-border settlement solutions.
