One of the Market’s Most Prominent Figures Revealed That He Bought Bitcoin and Two Altcoins During Yesterday’s Drop

Barstool Sports founder and social media personality Dave Portnoy revealed that he capitalized on the recent cryptocurrency market decline. Portnoy said he purchased a total of $2 million worth of XRP, Bitcoin, and Ethereum on Monday night.

Portnoy revealed his purchases one by one during a live broadcast, saying, “There was a bloodbath last night, Dave dove in like a piranha.” According to the screenshots Portnoy shared, his purchases are as follows:

• $1 million worth of XRP
• $750,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC)
• $400,000 worth of Ethereum (ETH)

Portnoy stated that he has long adopted a “HODL” strategy, buying aggressively during declines:

“There was a small dip in the market. I was like Braveheart, saying ‘HODL, HODL.’ I bought $2 million worth of crypto last night.”

Following yesterday's decline, Bitcoin's price continued its decline today, briefly dipping below $90,000. After a partial recovery, it is trading at $93,264 at the time of writing.
