Central Bank of Brazil Reveals Brazilians Have Bought Over $4 Billion Worth of Crypto This Year

The Central Bank of Brazil has reported that so far in the year 2021, residents of Brazil have bought over $4 billion worth of cryptocurrencies. According to the commercial asset balance report, it’s clear that since the year started, Brazilians have been consistently purchasing over $350 million dollars of cryptocurrencies every month up until now. But from the prediction of some of the central bank’s analysts, there’s a good chance that the number doubles even before the year runs out.

Brazilians Buy $350 Millions Worth of Cryptocurrencies On An Average Monthly

Reports being presented by the Central Bank of Brazil is showing that Brazilians have purchased an amazing amount of cryptocurrency imports since year 2021 started. Amounting to a tune of over $4 billion, cryptocurrencies has definitely become a part of the commercial balance of goods in the country.

Crypto imports have been holding over the $350 million mark since January. And for the month of May, the relentless buying saw a huge surge, when purchases reached a peak of $756 million in that month only.

However, the purchase numbers have have since reduced, reaching about $500 million last August. For now though, the numbers for September are yet to be available, so we can’t really tell yet if the decreasing trend is still on.

Speaking on the matter, the director of monetary policy of the Central Bank of Brazil, Bruno Serra says there’s an attraction between Brazilians and cryptocurrencies, and that attraction is not one that looks like fading anytime soon.
