AMC Theatres, the largest theater chain in the U.S, is accepting dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies as payment for digital gift cards.

Customers can buy gift cards up to a value of $200 a day online, in app or in theaters using a BitPay wallet, CEO Adam Aron tweeted Wednesday.

On an earnings call in August, Aron said that the chain would begin accepting bitcoin as payment for tickets and concessions by the end of the year.

AMC has 593 U.S. theaters and 335 international locations.

Dogecoin, the meme-based cryptocurrency, responded positively to the news, hitting its highest value in over three weeks at over $0.27 before subsequently pulling back. At the time of writing, DOGE is priced at $0.244.
