Decentralized organization TRON DAO announced the creation of an AI development fund and plans to allocate about $100 million. The initiative aims to support developers exploring the use of AI, which attempts to simulate human intelligence in machines, in applications built on the blockchain using tools such as ChatGPT, a chatbot created by OpenAI, both in the back-end and in external development interface.

The key areas identified by Tron are the use of AI for payments and e-commerce, currency settlement, data management, market and investment analysis, and content creation. Tron founder Justin SUN tweeted earlier this week:

“AI integration in smart contract development will allow for more intelligently and effectively created, deployed, and executed smart contracts.”

According to CryptoSlate, AI tokens have risen by an average of over 60% in the last week alone. Alethea (ALI), fetch.ai (FET), and SingularityNET (AGIX) tokens have more than tripled. However, some market watchers remain wary of the hype around AI tokens and suggest that the new trend will end in empty hype.
