Earlier this week, Google announced that it had added the Bitcoin symbol to its Google keyboard. The cool new feature can be found when selecting the button on the keyboard that shows several world currency symbols.

The addition of the '₿' symbol on the Google keyboard got the attention of all the crypto enthusiasts, however don't expect a massive adoption rate due to the quirky new feature.

Wow I just noticed that the ₿ symbol is now the first currency when u long press $ on Google keyboard...

Following the news, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin reached out to Google to inquire about having an Ethereum symbol added to the keyboard as well.

Tagging Google in a tweet, Vitalik said "I would like to discuss with you regarding the possibility to add an 'ETH' icon,"

Vitaliks tweet did not go unheard, as Google responded to the tweet, unfortunately the reply was not what the Ethereum founder was hoping for. Instead Google insisted that they would not add Ethereum or any other project "because we believe everything else is legally questionable and long-term not viable".

Pretty sure Vitalik deleted all evidence of Googles reply straight up shooting him down on his proposal to add an eth symbol to the #Gboard Google Keyboard...🤣🤣🤣#bitcoin #crypto #btc pic.twitter.com/pa009XaZPW

Vitalik clearly did not take the reply that well, having since deleted the tweet. Vitalik clearly did not agree with Googles reply. For the meantime it looks like we will have to make due with just the Bitcoin symbol.
