ESPN Global has recently developed an online gaming platform with blockchain technology. The E-Sports Programming Network’s gaming environment will allow users to compete with each other in a variety of game battles and tournaments, where they’ll be able to win money.

Players Can Make Payments Via Bitcoin

According to a news report, the upcoming platform will give users the chance to get a premium membership, which will allow them to play slots, plus early access to the latest and most anticipated online games.

ESPN’s new gaming environment is in a pre-launch phase. When finally active it will allow players to make deposits and withdrawals using Bitcoin, plus a number of other cryptocurrencies.

The report also reads that ESPN Global has been using platform CryptoPay to make the whole payment system a lot more secure, fast, and simplified.

The company also offers some of the most popular online games in one application, where users are able to join others and can compete in a number of real-time games.

“As per a research done by 3EA Limited, a global strategic management consulting group, e-sports and online gaming is a $140 billion global industry driven predominantly by digital micro-transaction economies, which we believe will benefit immensely from the integrity and resilience of the Blockchain technology,” said Chris Parker, one of the Directors of ESPN Global.

Unwinding The Potential Of Blockchain Games

Besides the above, ESPN has recently launched a new online “$1 million puzzle game”, called Satoshi’s Treasure, based on blockchain, and named after the creator of Bitcoin – Satoshi Nakamoto.

As per the report, ESPN Global Management is now planning the future of the development of even more blockchain-based games. Once they build a stabile e-sports community, the company intends to launch an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) of their own Smart Gaming Token (SGT), which is based on the ERC-20 platform.

ESPN Global also announced the upcoming initiation of a new Game Developers Console, which is planned to launch by January 2022. There, different gaming studios and independent game developers will have the opportunity to launch their games.
