EY (Ernst & Young), a global consulting and auditing firm, has launched the EY Blockchain Privacy Sandbox, a web-based environment for testing privacy-enabled smart contracts on public blockchains. The platform is designed for developers and companies working with Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible systems.

The sandbox uses Starlight, an open-source tool developed by EY, to convert standard Solidity contracts into privacy-enabled versions. This process keeps the original logic of the contract while adding confidentiality features. Developers can explore sample projects, modify them, and build proof-of-concept applications within the environment.

The solution is intended for early-stage experimentation. Companies can test how privacy-preserving smart contracts perform, evaluate use cases, and validate technical feasibility before deploying the technology in production systems.
