Theta Labs, provider of decentralized cloud infrastructure for AI, media, and entertainment, announced that Deutsche Telekom has joined the Theta Network as an enterprise validator, becoming the first telecom company to operate a validator node on the blockchain. Deutsche Telekom now joins existing validators, including Google, Samsung, and Sony in supporting the Theta ecosystem.
As an enterprise validator, Deutsche Telekom will help secure and validate transactions on Theta’s L1-blockchain, which is built for AI, media, and entertainment applications. Validators on the network stake THETA tokens to maintain network integrity and receive TFUEL as staking rewards.
Theta Network’s infrastructure supports Theta EdgeCloud, a decentralized hybrid platform that combines cloud and edge computing to provide distributed GPU power for AI, video rendering, and data processing. Deutsche Telekom continues to expand its blockchain presence through its subsidiary Deutsche Telekom MMS, which already supports major networks such as Ethereum, Polkadot, and Chainlink.
