Since the Asia-Pacific region accounts for more than half of the world's CO2 emissions, this has led to the creation of a local carbon registry. In response, Carbonbase partnered with the HBAR Foundation and ImpactX to launch the Global Climate Registry (GCR). This digital platform promises to make a difference in tracking carbon credits and reducing emissions.
GCR standards conform to the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This compliance guarantees the credibility of climate impact reports, a critical factor in today's environmentally conscious world. Kartik Kulkarni of the IEEE praised the collaborative effort, recognizing the potential to promote cost-effective and high impact climate initiatives.
The release of the GCR symbolizes a more sustainable future that is more than just a technical achievement. By building this database, the Asia-Pacific region will be better positioned to take significant leadership in the international climate change effort.
