Summary

Bitget and Lionel Messi team up to launch Blockchain4Youth

Leading crypto derivatives and copy trading platform, Bitget, has announced its collaboration with soccer world champion, Lionel Messi, to launch Blockchain4Youth.

The new project is a corporate social responsibility (or CSR) initiative, and aims to create a blockchain-based future by inspiring young people to adopt Web3 and crypto tools to create a decentralized space.

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, commented on the partnership with Messi and the project as follows

“Bitget and Messi are a perfect partnership, both on and off the field. Just as the Leo Messi Foundation supports children and teens in vulnerable situations, Bitget aims to empower today’s youth with valuable knowledge about blockchain and web3 information, ensuring a future where the world is connected to the blockchain.
Bitget’s research shows that ongoing demographic shifts will have a significant impact on cryptocurrency adoption, and that youth are struggling to systematically understand this evolving world.
With this in mind, Bitget intends to leverage its global reach and initiate meaningful projects to empower the younger generation. Messi is a role model with his dedication and passion for soccer. We take this inspiration as something we want to instill in today’s youth with the Blockchain4Youth project.”

The CSR project will kick off in May with a series of lectures on the campuses of top universities in Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, and other regions currently in the planning stage. Bitget also says it is open to potential partners who want to join Blockchain4Youth.

Bitget with Lionel Messi: What is the Blockchain4Youth educational project about?

The main goal of Bitget’s new signature project with Lionel Messi is to inspire more people to embrace cryptocurrencies.

Blockchain4Youth will rely on the younger generation to promote these ideas and help them become proactive leaders.

A recent study by Bitget shows that Millennials and representatives of Generation Z are the main force behind the development of a cryptocurrency-friendly future, with the former representing 46 percent of crypto enthusiasts.

To support young people and encourage their involvement in blockchain technology, Bitget is taking a 360-degree approach and plans to invest $10 million in the initiative over the next five years.

The initial phase of Blockchain4Youth will include offering blockchain courses and certifications through the Bitget Academy, as well as hosting on-campus classes in partnership with renowned universities around the world.

In addition, Bitget also plans to introduce scholarships in the coming months to provide financial support to young people who are passionate about blockchain.

Thus, among other goals, the platform plans to partner with other leading blockchain companies to incubate innovative projects from young entrepreneurs and to host U30 (Under 30) hackathons to identify the most promising.

Marketing campaigns with the famous football player

Today is not the first time that the Bitget crypto exchange has chosen the famous footballer for its successful partnerships.

In fact, at the end of November 2022, Bitget had announced a series of marketing campaigns in partnership with Lionel Messi.

To celebrate this partnership, Bitget and Messi had also created a video for the 2022 World Cup, followed by other marketing campaigns such as “Make it Count”.

The platform’s goal in joining forces with Messi was to further engage its customers.

In this regard, Bitget had also organized numerous giveaways and exclusive prizes with social contests and World Cup-themed activities, such as BGB 1 million and an autographed jersey of the soccer player-turned-world champion.
