This latest hot slice of adoption news went down fairly well on twitter, with the crypto community rejoicing in the news:

Pizza for Valentine's?  Maybe not today, but certainly tomorrow and onwards.  It's spreading. https://t.co/fa2dqHy9tT

Even if the majority doesn't know $BTC at all, they probably are aware of Pizza. A great way to let the people know about $Crypto.

This isn’t the first attempt to use the Lightning Network to buy a food and drink, last month at a meet-up in a Chicago bar, Jack Mallers, creator of the open source wallet, Zap, demonstrated the prowess of the Lightning Network by allowing anyone in the world to buy him a beer over the internet.

There was even a selection of well-named drinks on offer:

The Lightning Network – tasked with scaling Bitcoin - has gained widespread attention of late thanks to the social media initiative of “passing the Lightning torch” in which users send send each other 10k Satoshis, passing the accumulating funds on to another, thus continuing the passing of the torch:

Some LN fun..

- I send 100k sats with https://t.co/va7XSnFii0 to the first person I choose to trust that replies to this.
- That person adds 10k sats and sends 110k to someone (Either from reply to a new tweet, or this thread)

.. and so on

How many sats before it breaks?

The initiative started to spread news of the Lightning Network and test its capabilities when processing low level payments.

the latest (notable) recipients include Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, CZ CEO of Binance and Justin Sun CEO of Tron.

Surely its just a matter of time before some dastardly person pockets the funds….
