Whales moved more than $380 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Gnosis (GNO) in a single day on Wednesday.
A handful of whales moved huge sums of BTC onto or off exchanges, according to the blockchain-tracking platform Whale Alert.
Top US crypto exchange Coinbase transferred 2,500 Bitcoin worth more than $74.3 million to an unknown wallet, and a different unknown wallet sent 2,616 BTC worth nearly $77.8 million to Coinbase.
New York-based exchange Gemini also transferred 4,000 Bitcoin worth more than $119.1 million to a third unknown wallet. BTC is trading at $29,625 at time of writing.
In terms of large Ethereum transactions, two unknown wallets transferred large sums to Coinbase. One sent the exchange 18,920 ETH worth more than $35.1 million, and the other transferred 19,046 ETH worth roughly $34.9 million, according to Whale Alert.
A third unknown wallet also sent 15,000 Ethereum worth more than $27.8 million to the Cayman Islands-based exchange Gate.io. ETH is priced at $1,855 at time of writing.
Coinbase also received a large sum of the top memecoin Dogecoin, with an unknown wallet sending the exchange 67,881,717 DOGE worth more than $5 million. DOGE is worth around $0.0754 at time of writing.
In terms of other altcoins, the treasury for Gnosis, an Ethereum sidechain, sent an unknown wallet 92,000 GNO worth more than $10.2 million. GNO is trading at $111.51 at time of writing.
