$XRP could reach $7 by 2035, when Ripple is projected to exhaust its remaining 31.1 billion escrowed tokens, according to a ChatGPT price prediction.

The forecast places $XRP considerably above its press-time price of $1.16, with ChatGPT projecting a base-case range of $5 to $8 by 2035.

The AI model noted that stronger institutional demand could push the cryptocurrency towards $12 to $20, while limited adoption and persistent supply pressure could leave it between $1.50 and $3.50.

Assuming approximately 95 billion $XRP are circulating by then, a $7 price would imply a market capitalization of $665 billion. The bullish $20 scenario would put its valuation at approximately $1.9 trillion.

ChatGPT’s $7 target considers institutional adoption, cross-border payment demand, exchange-traded fund (ETF) investment, and increased activity on the $XRP Ledger.

Its base-case forecast places $XRP between $3 and $5 in 2030, $4 and $6 in 2032, and $5 and $8 by 2035. The bearish scenario ranges from $1.50 to $3.50, while stronger adoption could support a rally towards $20.

How much $XRP remains in Ripple’s escrow?

Ripple initially locked 55 billion $XRP, or 55% of its 100 billion maximum supply, in escrow in December 2017.

Following the November 1 unlock, approximately 31.1 billion $XRP remained locked, according to $XRP Insights. This means 23.9 billion tokens have left escrow on a net basis.

Notably, Ripple unlocks up to 1 billion $XRP monthly but typically re-escrows 70%. Over the past 12 months, 12 billion $XRP were unlocked, 8.4 billion re-escrowed, and 3.6 billion released on a net basis.

Existing escrow contracts extend to July 2029, when the final scheduled unlock is expected to release approximately 100 million $XRP. However, continued re-escrowing extends the overall depletion timeline.

At an average net release of 300 million $XRP monthly, the remaining 31.1 billion could last another 104 months, putting projected depletion around July 2035, assuming Ripple maintains its current policy.

$XRP price analysis

By press time, $XRP was trading at $1.16, having corrected by a modest 0.6% in the past 24 hours, while on the weekly timeline the digital asset is down 7%.

Technically, $XRP is below both its 50-day simple moving average (SMA) of $1.38 and 200-day SMA of $1.27, indicating persistent bearish momentum.

The price remaining below these key averages suggests sellers retain control, with the 50-day SMA also sitting above the 200-day SMA, reinforcing the negative technical outlook.

Meanwhile, the 14-day relative strength index (RSI) stands at 31.57, approaching the oversold threshold of 30. This suggests selling pressure is becoming stretched, potentially creating room for a short-term recovery.
